How to print double-sided

Weird that you can’t just have the printer do this by default.  But if you’ve ever wondered how to print something out double-sided then wonder no longer.  Let me show you the way…

First you’ll want to have open a document that you hope to print.  A MS Word  file, spreadsheet, email, website, anything really. When you are ready to print, open the printing dialog box by selecting File >> Print… or by hitting the keyboard shortcut, Apple + P.

This ought to look familiar.  Select the correct printer, number of copies, and whathaveyous.  THEN, click on the third pull-down menu and look for an option labelled “Layout”.  Select this!

Our dialog box should now change to present you with some new & different options.  Most notably, the “Two-Sided” option.  Click on this pulldown menu and select “Long-edge binding”.  This will make your file print double-sided.  (The long-edge binding refers to the orientation of the page.  If you wanted to print a document that was formatted for a landscape style page then you would select “Short-edge binding”.)

That is all!  Click print and you are done!
