CCMA09: What happens in Pittsburgh stays in Pittsburgh

Hello to all from overcast Pittsburgh, PA. I’m here for the 53rd annual Consumer Cooperative Management Association conference. I’ll be serving as a representative to the Board of Directors for People’s Food Co-op, as well as emissary to the IS4C/Fannie software projects. I hope to use this great opportunity to sponge up as much info and knowledge as i can to enrich our board experience and learn from the hundreds of other consumer co-ops represented here.  I’ll also be presenting on the current state of the software and demoing the latest features.

I hope to be able to blog regularly throughout the weekend for the purpose of capturing as much of the “juicy bits” as possible and sharing them with my fellow board members (and any others interested, though i doubt there are many of those).

Here’s some resources for those interested in learning more about CCMA:

I’m off to go check-in now…

PS:  The headline above was a promise made with fellow conference-goers in the van-ride from the airport.  I guess the mere existence of this blog and my attempts to share EVERYTHING that happens here kinda nullifies that.  Too bad though, because we pinky-swore on it!

well, they’re not mutually exlusive, akshually. :) due to the magic of the intertubes, what happens in pittsburgh CAN actually both stay in pittsburgh AND simultaneously be transmitted across the globe. have fun. and find out what any second-store-openers who crashed and burned would have done differently. heh.
